You may either experience loose stool or constipation. Side Effects from Detoxing Loose stool is popular in detoxification as mostly whole foods are consumed at this time and whole foods are normally packed with fiber. You may simply be over consuming foods with a lot of fiber. So what you can do is to check the fiber content in the food you eat and consume less fiber packed foods and stay hydrated.

Constipation occurs less than loose stool, but it happens. When it happens, the possible reason is that your system is plugged with a lot of fiber, which is preventing the movement of food along the digestive tract. To help with constipation, you can up your water intake and consume whole foods which have a laxative effect, such as chia seeds, dandelion or flaxseeds.

Bloating and Gas

Side Effects from DetoxingExperiencing a bloaty and gassy feeling means that something is off with your digestive system. With a modern day diet, we may not consume the right kind and the right amount of food needed by the body. Because the body is not accustomed to the amount of fiber you’ll be taking in, that accounts for the bloating and gas symptoms you may experience. To reduce bloating and gas, you may have 1 or 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Mix the apple cider vinegar in 10 ounces of room temperature water and drink at least 30 minutes before meals. Avoid cold liquids and drink liquids at room temperature.

Hot Flashes

Side Effects from DetoxingYou may feel a sudden chilling sensation, followed by warmth. This feeling will occur in the upper body, usually on the face and neck. The warmth you feel may intensifies.  You will start to feel somewhat hot and you will begin to sweat, as you are now losing too much body heat. Things will come to a halt shortly after and you will end up feeling chilly and somewhat feverish. Stay hydrated by drinking as much water as possible. This is very important as you will be losing water through sweat, so you need to replace all the water that you are losing.

Nausea

You may occasionally feel nauseous and sick to your stomach. Side Effects from DetoxingYou have been consuming processed sugar loaded foods for a period and that is all your body knows. So when you start eating fresh whole foods, your taste bud will not be familiar with the taste as it is not as sweet as the foods it is used to. Because of this, you may feel very sick and might have a nauseous feeling. Once again, this will pass as soon as the toxins are removed from your system. To overcome this feeling, eat fresh fruits. Fruits are naturally sweet and your taste buds will like that.
